Inga has taught in many venues from Elliot Feld's Ballet Tech to University at Buffalo, D'Youville College
as well as volunteering time to children with special needs. As Ballet Mistress for Buffalo Inner City Ballet
School, Inga conducted rehearsals, instructed classes and assisted with the children's outreach program.
Inga has achieved a BA degree in Dance Education from the University at Buffalo.
She has trained and worked with renowned choreographers David Allan, John Carrafa, Ann Reinking, Randy Skinner,
Tony Stevens and Chet Walker. She studied at such schools as Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Academy
and David Howard's Ballet School. Inga has performed with ballet companies such as Riverside Ballet Theater in
California, Charleston Ballet Company in South Carolina and Buffalo City Ballet Company in New York. Other credits
include working on Dolphin Cruise Line performing in Broadway revue shows, Regional Theaters credits are
Jesus Christ
Superstar,
Anything Goes,
The Who's Tommy,
The Ballet Man, and
Love Liberty and The Happiness of Pursuit.
She has been seen on stage dancing for such artists as Aretha Franklin, Huey Lewis and the News and The Beach Boys.
You may have also seen her on HBO's
Sex in the City.
Inga has directed and choreographed musicals such as
Westside Story,
The Pajama Game, many Christmas celebrations
and showcases as well as assistant directed with Shotgun Productions. Together with her husband, musician Joel Gerson,
they are working on a full length musical.
Class Description
BEG JAZZ / THEATER DANCE- Class begins with working on isolation from head to toe as a
pre warm-up. Inga emphasizes ballet and Horton technique to help refine the students' jazz
technique. She then completes her warm-up with a nice stretch and strengthening segment before
working on coordination exercises both center and across the floor.
The class incorporates the different styles of renowned teachers such as Luigi, Matt Mattix,
Ron Lewis, Fosse and many more to help the student become versatile. The final combination
uses musical theater genre to encourage the students to relax and let their technique flow while
having a good time performing. This class provides a fun supportive atmosphere while gaining the
confidence and skills needed to be a strong dancer.
