Madboots Dance

MADBOOTS DANCE is an all-male contemporary dance company based in New York City. Artistic Directors, Jonathan Campbell (The Juilliard School '10) and Austin Diaz (NYU Tisch School of the Arts '11), co-founded the company in 2011. Most recently, MADBOOTS was named one of Dance Magazine's "25 To Watch". Since its inception, the company has presented work nationally and internationally at the 2015 Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival Doris Duke Theatre, Rialto Center for the Arts, Chutzpah! Festival (Canada), Duo Multicultural Arts Center, BAM Fisher Hillman, The 92nd Street Y, David Parker's Soaking Wet Series, Tisch School of the Arts, TOES for Dance (Canada), Alto Jonio Dance Festival (Italy), Dumbo Dance Festival Gala, Strand Center For The Arts and Springboard Danse Montreal (Canada). The New York Times has noted the company's "sharp, elegant movements, dark theatricality and unashamed intimacy..."

Campbell and Diaz are the recipients of several awards and honors, including Dance Now's Joe's Pub Festival Challenge Winner (2012), Creative Development Residencies at Jacob's Pillow (2014, 2015), Choreographers On Campus at Lafayette College (2015) and an invitation to perform at the Joyce Theater's Annual Choreographers & Cocktails Event (2015). Campbell And Diaz's choreography has been commissioned by SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance, Point Park University, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance and Whim W'him.
