Michael's Modern/Contemporary/Jazz class is influenced by his diverse
training background of movement. The class focuses on a deep sensory
sensitivity, skeletal and muscular alignment and awareness, and emotional
integrity and strength in movement. Phrases allow the dancer to explore
full range of movement. Attention is brought to detail and the breaking of
old movement habits, embracing newfound movement quality. Dancers are
encourages to bring their unique energy to class with them as they "listen
to their dancing body" to utilize maximum power and fullness.
Warm up is approximately 45 mins and is inspired by yoga, gyrokenesis,
Simonson Technique, and more. This leaves the dancing body feeling
stretched, strengthened, and aligned adequately from head to toe. Enjoy!
