Vivake Khamsingsavath (Vive) is a Laotian American dancer and choreographer from Brooklyn, New York. He studied dance at Binghamton University, where he also earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Vivake has toured Europe performing with modern company Galumpha, taught Jazz and Hip Hop workshops in Asia, and worked as a commercial dancer in Los Angeles, California. Vive decided to focus his work in New York City where he performed for several choreographers including Derek Mitchell, Stephanie Klemons, Mark Caserta, Yung-Li, and Pascal Rekoert.
Notable performances include Lincoln Center, Broadway at Bryant Park, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, appearances on the "Today Show", "The View" and "Good Morning America" for Flo Rida, campaigns for Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, LG, Coca-Cola and Sears. Recently, Vive played the role of dance captain for the plays Pearl Diver and Quadratic, principal male in The Opera Goyescas, served as choreographer for the musical Yosef, immersive show Barkeep, worked as co-artistic director of Gotham Dance Theater and choreographed a music video by The Bravo Network.
He has danced for companies Kalamandir Dance (Indian Contemporary), ALMA NYC (Jazz), and Touch Performance Art (Immersive). Vive is currently dancing for Defunes dance directed by Diego Funes and with Takeshi Ohashi for an evening at Carnegie Hall. Vive is constantly working and learning from different artists and choreographers to continue building and expanding his knowledge and understanding of dance. Through Vive's versatility and experiences in the commercial and concert world, Vive aspires to share his passion for dance and give students valuable insight and tools to become more knowledgeable dancers and performers.
