Artistic Director

Claire Livingstone began her artistic career as a student at the Royal Ballet School in London, and subsequently became a member of the Royal Ballet Company for nine years, performing in Europe, Asia, the United States and Africa. In 1994, she traveled with members of the Royal Ballet Company to Kenya creating benefit performances for the conservation organization, Save the Elephants. Recently, she worked as a consultant on the inaugural performances of Morphoses: The Wheeldon Company at the Vail International Dance Festival, Sadlers Wells Theater in London, and City Center in NYC. In 2006, she participated as a dancer and coordinator of U.S. Artists for the Gallman Memorial Foundation's (GMF) production of Earth: Healing the Rift, an environmental festival of music, dance and visual arts created by a team of international artists in Likipia, Kenya. In 2007, she continued her work with GMF at their second annual festival, Aqua. As Artistic Director of the Steps Repertory Ensemble, Ms. Livingstone has grown the company to 12 dancers that perform in all Performance Labs, the Faculty in Performance and Celebrate Dance concerts. Ms. Livingstone is also a founding member of Global Arts Initiative.
