Levi Claiborne
"Loud and crazy" is what Levi was called when an entertainment agent first saw him dancing at a
college party. She gave him her card and that took him from doing communications in college to
traveling and dancing. He first started dancing for Allise Simmons, a late 80's act, which
gave him the opportunity to dance at the Apollo and Madison Square Garden at the famed WBLS and
KISS basketball games. He also opened for acts such as The Whispers, Teddy Reilly with Guy and
The Force MD's. Since then, Levi has worked with Mariah Carey, R & B singers Joe and Jaheim,
Eminem with D12, and several dance music acts. One dance music act in which Levi danced and did
the choreography, Planet Soul's Set U Free, gave Levi a gold record in appreciation of
all his hard work. Levi tours and teaches all over the world including Japan, Europe and Israel.
He teaches regularly as part of the staff at the Nanine Bommer Dance Techniques in Israel. He was
profiled on the WPIX morning news program as one of the premier hip hop teachers. Levi is a
certified personal trainer who was one of the top trainers and the first at New York Sports Club
in Harlem.
Levi loves to combine old skool with new skool movements and does not put boundaries in his
choreography. "Hip hop is not a dance it's my life."
