With a strong background in Ballet, Ms. Kadison's Jazz style incorporates elements of classical and modern vocabulary with her signature combination of styles, ranging from contemporary to World-Beat, and most recently, Tango.
Considered one of the forerunners in continually exploring and expanding possibilities of new expressions in Jazz, Ms. Kadison was a long-time teacher at STEPS Studio and Broadway Dance Center in New York and continues to teach Master Classes at festivals, studios, and universities throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Japan. Ms. Kadison currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she teaches Contemporary Jazz for the Stage.
Intermediate Contemporary Jazz focuses on technique, working on the elements of placement and how to strengthen weaknesses through use of the secondary muscles. The warm-up is based on classical and modern lines, translated into a contemporary language that prepares the dancer to move accurately and cleanly. Combinations are created to challenge weight changes and balance, while helping to develop interpretation and musicality.
Advanced Contemporary Jazz expands upon the basics found in the Intermediate level, with combinations geared towards performance values. Choreography is designed to assist dancers in interpretation, intention, and dynamics, as well as assimilating combinations quickly and accurately for audition settings.
