A freelance artist, Yotam was born in Montreal. With two parents, both internationally
acclaimed professional dancers, choreographers, and teachers, Yotam had his first performance
as a toddler. For him, dance is a way of life, of expression and communication. His dancing
and his teaching are proof of his philosophy. Anything triggers a dance movement. His
pedagogical approach to dance is made of empathy, generosity and endless enthusiasm. Yotam
has a way with people of all ages making each person feel confident, at ease, and successful
in catching and executing the most intricate combinations or steps. Yotam's main passion is
hip hop in all aspects, shades, sides, and colors.
Yotam's experiences as a performer, artist, dancer and teacher include: performances on stage,
classes, master classes, workshops to dancers and non-dancers in Canada, Israel and the USA; in
movies Pure, and Jules Verne; in television Jaaneman a Bollywood Production, and an appearance on
MTV with Madonna on TRL; in commercials for Motorola, Sprite Remix. Yotam is the choreographer
in residence for the entertainment group The Young Tel-Avivians. As rehearsal director and
teacher, he has created a repertoire of dances performed in Israel and abroad. Yotam's
dedication to dance and teaching include his profound interest and beliefs in the educative
and therapeutic qualities of dance which took shape in his volunteer work with troubled teens
and new-immigrants (Israel). Yotam has worked with mentally disabled and physically challenged
adults, young adults and teenagers in Israel and Canada using dance and movement. He has worked
with organizations such as Village of Hope, Shadow program and Centre Miriam.
A very creative mind doubled with a great musicality, Yotam is always prompt to remind anybody
that learning and growth in the field of dance is a continuous work in progress, a never ending
presence to people and everything around.
Class Description
Yotam's class is a unique blend of styles and techniques, it is creative, unexpected, mellow yet
energetic, with accents and phrasing that are fresh and challenging. It is a personal and
individual expression, rich in vocabulary and nuances that capture the essence of hip hop and
the universality of dance.
