Class Description
George's approach is eclectic using a variety of techniques from classical ballet to modern and jazz. The focus is to help the students move to the best of "their" ability. He treats each dancer as an individual and teaches them how best to use the instrument they have. His primary concern is the health of the dancer's body; therefore fundamental anatomical placement coupled with rhythm and movement is the foundation of George's technique. His philosophy is steeped in tradition but spiced with contemporary ideas. He equally appreciates the formality of Balanchine ballets and the innovative approaches of choreographers such as Martha Graham, Dan Wagoner and Andrei Prelijocaj. Dance is a universal language. It is a form of visceral communication in our increasingly technological society.
