Jennie Nau

Nau Dance Training: Jennie has 19 years of training in ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical dance. She is a graduate of the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan where she studied musical theater. Jennie also has a BA in Communications and Media Studies with an emphasis in journalism from Fordham University, where she served as the Editor in Chief of The Observer, the student newspaper of Fordham College at Lincoln Center.

Performance/Company Affiliations: Jennie's favorite credits include the first and third national tours of Scrooge: The Musical, and the off-Broadway musicals Livin' the Life and Hangin' at Joe's and The Elegance and the Comedy of Tap.

Jennie has had the privilege of performing with *NSYNC, John Legend, the Knicks City Dancers, the Boys Choir of Harlem, the NY Stix, and Michael Franti and Spearhead.

She was also seen on the WB Morning Show and The Early Show and has toured with Dancing on Common Ground and Avi Miller and Ofer Ben's Tap Tel Aviv. She performed in the 2005 Miss Florida Pageant, Richard Anthony's Pali Poker III and IV, High Rollers' Revue at Foxwoods Casino Resort, Lisa Hopkin's Tap Kids, and Danny Wallace and Isis Masoud's At the Diner.

Jennie was the first New York City dancer to be featured in Dance Spirit Magazine's Hot On Their Heels column where they chronicled her dance classes, auditions, rehearsals, and performances for one year.

Choreographic Experience: Jennie choreographed the off-Broadway musical Livin' the Life and Hangin' at Joe's and was the assistant choreographer and dance captain of Pali Poker III and IV. Her choreography was performed in the 2007 Tap City Youth Showcase. Jennie has also choreographed solos, duos/trios, and group pieces for dance studios across the country and won numerous overall high score and choreography awards.

Class Description: Jennie's classes are always energetic and exciting. Whether she is teaching jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theater, or creative movement, her classes combine a technical warm up with across the floor work and a combination.
