Amanda Turner

Amanda Turner has worked internationally as a professional performing artist in dance, choreography, and as a teacher for 25 years. Her career has spanned from being a classical ballet soloist with Israel National Ballet and other companies in Europe to Musical Theater where she danced in The Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Damn Yankees, West Side Story and other major productions.

Amanda has been with the faculty at Steps for several years where she teaches ballet, pointework, and theatre dance and is now a practicing Kripalu yoga teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner. She brings her life experience as a dancer and choreographer into her yoga practice.

Kripalu Yoga is "a beautiful healing experience". It combines breath work, using breath with movement, sound vibration, warm up exercises for the spine, flowing yoga postures, and meditation. It is a graceful, flowing, moving meditation.

Amanda's yoga class combines Kripalu yoga with the principles of Ayurveda to restore balance and harmony to the physical and emotional body, and the mind. This practice will guide you through a self inquiry that will calm the nervous system, build physical strength and eliminate toxins from the body; inducing a feeling of balance, well being, and clarity of mind.
