Steps on Broadway

Steven Williams

Steven was born at New York Hospital, a TRUE native of Manhattan. He began dancing at the tender age of 9, when an organization decided to take children attending inner city schools and give them a sense of direction. Taking us off the street and into a studio. Training us in Modern, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Voice, etc.... They are called the National Dance Institute (NDI), founded by Jacques d'Amboise, of the New York City Ballet. Steven's love for the arts continued to grow as he not only continued his education at NDI but also attended the drama program at his local Junior High and the Theatre Department of La Guardia H.S. for the Performing Arts. He graduated from S.U.N.Y. New Paltz with a degree in both Technical and Performance Theatre. After College he auditioned rigorously and had an opportunity to dance for Mariah Carey and go on a promo tour with Jamie-Lynn Sigler. He then got the privilege, only a year out of college, to study at the acclaimed Moscow Art Theatre for their fall semester. An experience he will never forget. Steven has worked with many wonderful and amazing choreographers since his return from the motherland. One of whom being Rhapsody James and Co. Currently, he is dancing background for a new artist named LOLA, her single "No Strings," and is also teaching at various schools within the tri-state area.
