YOUNG DANCERS PROGRAM
(ages 2-6)

The Young Dancers Program welcomes children ages 2-6 to the exciting world of dance and music. Classes in this program are designed to introduce creative movement exercises that foster body coordination, rhythmic awareness, and a path to explore their own imagination.

All young dancers must meet the age requirement by September 1 and are placed according to age. During the first two weeks of classes, teachers may suggest a different class or level.

Classes Offered:

NEW THIS YEAR - ISADORA DUNCAN (ages 3-6)
The beauty, grace and athleticism of the Duncan technique build strength, musicality and freedom of movement—all important tools for the young "artist in training". Utilizing basic skips, runs, leaps, tosses and improvisational themes, the artful play of dance is explored to music by classical composers. Classes are taught by Lori Belilove, Artistic Director of The Isadora Duncan Dance Company.

Book Dancing - From Page to Pirouette (ages 2-3)
The power of books leaps off the page in this dynamic new program, combining storytelling and dance. Children explore their favorite classic tales as they become the characters through dance movement, music and narrative. Classes are 45 minutes in length.

Little Steps (ages 2-3)
Little Steps is a creative, nurturing and fun-filled dance experience for pre-school children. Classes are 45 minutes in length.

Boys Leaps and Bounds (ages 4-6)
A one hour class that is designed to offer a more athletic exploration in creative movement. Allowing young boys to become more physically aware not only in movement but in musical abilities through tap. Class starts with learning basic tap steps and moves on to runs and leaps that our bounding boys love to do.

Adventures in Dance (ages 4-5)
A summer favorite is now offered throughout the year!
This unique package enhances the child's creative world through the exploration of movement and music. Each week, students take two 45 minute classes linked by a supervised snack break. Students take a pre-dance class introducing technical concepts from a variety of dance disciplines followed by a class focusing on a specific dance style.

Preparatory Classes (ages 4-5)
Pre-Dance and Pre-Tap classes further develops the child's creativity preparing them for ballet, jazz, and tap classes at the basic level. Classes are 45 minutes in length.
