I started my training with Margaret Craske when I was 7 yrs. old in NYC. My parents were Kelly and Isabel Brown who were both members of the American Ballet Theater. We moved to Phoenix Arizona where my father took over a dance studio and I continued my training with my parents. I received a summer scholarship to the School of American Ballet and they asked me to stay for the winter. After 1 and 1\/2 yrs at SAB, I did the lead role in Concerto Barocco for the SAB workshop, which was one of my favorite roles that I ever danced. Following the workshop, I joined New York City Ballet in 1974 at the age of 16. After a year and a half in the corps de ballet in NYCB I went on to do the lead role of Emilia in the motion picture The Turning Point<\/em> in 1976. I then joined American Ballet Theater as a soloist in 1976 and became a principal dance in 1986.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of my favorite roles were Juliet in Romeo and Juliet<\/em>, Giselle<\/em>, Odette in Swan Lake<\/em>, Leaves are Fading<\/em>, Violin Concerto<\/em>, to name a few among all of the incredible ballets I danced including the amazing ballets by both Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, when I was in the New York City ballet corps de ballet.
