Virtual Classes Registration and Policies:
- Students must purchase a single online class to take Virtual Steps classes. Each person taking the class needs to purchase a single class, even if you will be sharing a device to take the class. Purchases are non-transferrable.
- Please download Zoom for either your mobile device or desktop prior to the start of your first class. You do not need to create a Zoom login or pay for a Zoom account to take our livestream classes. We encourage you to download Zoom and sign in early before your first class. Please keep Zoom updated for the optimal class experience.
- All class times are in Eastern Time (New York). You must be signed up for class at least 15 minutes prior to the start time of class. This will allow you to receive your class link email in time for class. After this 15-minute cutoff, we are unable to register you for class.
- Check your email for your unique class link within 15-30 minutes of the class start time. This link can only be used once by you, it will not be sharable with others. If you do not see a link, please check your spam folders, or promotions tabs if using a Gmail address.
- Please ensure that the email address and name on your Steps account is accurate. This information will be used to let you into the class from the Zoom waiting room. This is a security feature to prevent those from entering the class without authorized access.
- Please arrive via Zoom 10-15 minutes early.
- Virtual Steps classes will not be recorded for later viewing.
- Classes are recommended for ages 12+.
- All participants are required to have their cameras turned on and need to visibly participate on camera throughout the class. This ensures safety, engagement, and a better experience for both our faculty and our students. No video recording of classes is allowed at any time
If your camera is not on when class begins, we will send you a private message as a reminder. If it’s still off after a second notice and it’s within the first 15 minutes of class, you will be removed and automatically refunded
Expressed written consent is needed from Steps faculty for any exceptions to the policy.
Cancellations & Refunds:
- Cancellations for Virtual Steps must be made two hours before the class start time to be credited back to your account to use for another online class later. If you cancel your class online within two hours of class start time, your spot will be forfeited, and you will lose the class.
- No refunds are offered for completed classes.
Makeups Due to Internet Issues
- Internet Issues on the Steps on Broadway side: If the teacher or host drops out due to internet connectivity issues more than twice and cannot make up time by adding additional time at the end of the class, a credit will be awarded for that single class to your MindBody account for you to use at a later date.
- Internet Issues on the dancer side (your side): If you have signed up and paid for a class and cannot attend due to bad internet connection, we will credit for you for that class. If your internet drops during a class more than twice and you cannot complete class, please notify us at operations@stepsnyc.com and we will determine whether to remit a class credit.
