Join Us for a Town Hall on Protecting Dance
This past August, the dance community uncovered that an instructor in Spain was teaching and profiting from the choreography of esteemed artists like Josh Bergasse, Richard Hinds, Courtney Ortiz, and Sarah Meahl, falsely claiming it as his own. This incident not only highlighted this individual’s actions but also shed light on others profiting from the work of choreographers without proper attribution.
These events have ignited vital conversations about how to safeguard creative work in the digital age.
We invite you to join us at Steps on Sunday, October 21st, for a Town Hall that will unite affected choreographers and legal experts. Together, we’ll explore current laws and strategies to protect our creative contributions. Don’t miss this important opportunity to engage and advocate for our community!
Panel: Josh Bergasse, Richard J. Hinds, Angel Kaba, Sarah Meahl, Courtney Ortiz, Staci Triager and Gabby Ziccarelli.
Moderator: Wendy Perron, Former Editor in Chief, Dance Magazine.
