BASIC/INTERMEDIATE STABILITY BALL EXERCISES

Saturday, April 22 · 12:00-5:00pm
The course will begin with a review of the movement and core principles involved in the Pilates Mat exercises. We will go through the basic mat series and discuss ways to incorporate the stability ball into each exercise. We will then discuss some other exercises derived from Reformer and Cadillac exercises and how they can be performed on the stability ball.

STEELE PILATES ADVANCED MAT EXERCISES / SEQUENCING & VARIATIONS

Sunday, April 23 · 12:00-5:00pm
This course will start with a review of the basic Pilates Movement and Core Principles and explore common ways of altering the Mat exercises (using tempo, lever length, body weight and gravity) to increase their level of difficulty. The class will also incorporate mat exercises derived from reformer/cadillac exercises. Finally, we will layer and combine exercises into choreographed sequences to challenge muscular endurance and strength for advanced clientele.

PRE/POST NATAL PILATES PROTOCOLS

Saturday, April 29 · 12:00-4:00pm
Students will learn the physiological changes that accompany pregnancy. We will discuss how to successfully work with clients to prepare them for pregnancy and to support them during pregnancy. Proper protocols for pre/post natal clients as well as contraindications will be taught.

STEELE PILATES PROTOCOLS FOR AGING POPULATIONS

Sunday, April 30 · 12:00-4:00pm
For many, the goal of a fitness program shifts from acquiring physical attributes to that of an increased/maintained Quality of Life. In this workshop, physical and emotional changes that accompany aging will be discussed with the goal of understanding of how the body gains strength in later adulthood compared to early life stages. The focus is a review of Pilates exercises and the modifications for an aging population. This course will give you a strong sense of what to expect and how to enjoy and work with this wonderful group of people. Teri studied Exercise and Aging at UC Berkeley and she currently works with clients, some well into their 90’s!
