Alex performed in 10 Broadway shows and was in the original cast of FOSSE, working extensively with Gwen Verdon, Ann Reinking and Chet Walker on the Fosse technique. Prior to his Broadway career Alex was a soloist ballet dancer with Ballet Chicago for four seasons. He was a ballet guest artist for The Ruth Page Ballet, The Festival Ballet, Southern Ballet Theater, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Company and The Chicago Rep Dance Ensemble.
Alex is the 2015 co-recipient of the SDC Joe A. Calloway Award for Best Choreography. Two time winner of the Broadway World Award 2011 & 2012. He has been nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award, Connecticut Critic Circle Award and seven Joseph Jefferson Awards. He was also honored by Dance Magazine "25 Artists to Watch in 2016".
As an educator Alex was on staff with The New Jersey Ballet School, teaching classical ballet and pointe. Faculty member of Oakland School for the Arts teaching ballet and jazz. later. He taught master classes in Tokyo for (Carewaves), Mexico City, (Dansing), Southern Methodist University Dance Department, Pace University and NYU Tisch Musical Theater Department. In New York City Alex has been a guest teacher for STEPS on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center and The Peridance Center.
