Choreography credits include: Associate Choreographer for an Equity Showcase Musical "My Father's Play," directed and choreographed by Liz Piccoli, Choreographer for "Futurology the Musical" (Off Broadway), Assistant Choreographer for "Freckleface Strawberry The Musical" (Off Broadway & Tour), Choreographer for Carnival Choreographers Ball, Siren's After Dark as well as recording artists videos and stage performances.
Debbie can be seen in TV shows, commercials and films including, Apple TV's "Severance," (Ben Stiller, director), Sam's Club Commercial starring Kevin Hart, Adobe Commercial, Halle Berry's movie Bruised, Spoiler Alert, Run the World, Ghost and Law & Order to name a few. And has also appeared in "The Other Two" as a principal dancer (Kathryn Burns, choreographer).
Performance credits include "Sesame Street Live" and "The Wizard Of Oz" National Tours, "Porgy & Bess" (Bregenz, Austria), "The Rosie O'Donnell Christmas Special", "Macy's Thanksgiving Parade" and "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular". Debbie has assumed the role of Performance Director for "Sesame Street Live" and Production Assistant for "American Prophet Frederick Douglass...In His Words" at the Apollo Theater and "Dancin Feet" Video Series featuring Lane Napper.
Debbie is a proud member of The Stage Director and Choreographers Foundation Observership Program, The Black Theater Coalition Apprentice Program, Actor's Equity Association and Sag/Aftra.
Debbie's dance training from Brooklyn College, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Certificate Program, Phyllis Wright and Frank Hatchett has led her to be a well rounded teacher, teaching Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Heels, Musical Theater, Street Jazz, Jazz Funk, Burlesque Jazz and TV/Video Jazz.
Debbie is currently teaching Jazz at Broadway Dance Center and Musical Theater at Steps on Broadway. She has also taught at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Peridance Dance Center and Dance Theater of Harlem as well as Master Classes and workshops all over the world.
Class Description:
If you are looking for a fun class. This is it! Theater Jazz technique with a sassy funky performing edge. Students are encouraged to have fun by using their own personality and attitude while executing her stylish and relevant choreography.
Debbie helps Students by giving corrections and teaching the importance of performance techniques for auditions or just having fun by being the best dancer you can be which she has learned and used throughout her many years of auditioning, performing and now choreographing.
