IngaMarie Gerson
CURRENT CLASSES

IngaMarie Gerson is a New York based choreographer, performer, and educator who loves to share her passion for Dance and Musical Theater.

Her diverse training stems from Chet Walker, David Howard, Frank Hatchett, Gus Giordano, Luigi, Tony Stevens, The Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Academy, The Royal Academy of Ballet and The Wallace School of Dance. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Dance Education from the University at Buffalo.

For the past 15 years, she has been on the faculty at Steps on Broadway and Steps Youth Programs. She has previously taught at Elliot Feld's Ballet Tech, University at Buffalo, D'Youville College (Dance Dept. Director), Buffalo Inner City Ballet school and many studios, workshops, and intensives across the United States.

Alongside her husband Joel Marc Gerson, IngaMarie founded The Zany Theatre Projects in 2003. Together, they produce, write, choreograph, and direct original works that tell stories through song and dance. These projects are showcased on Off-Broadway theaters.

Her stage credits include: Jesus Christ Superstar, The Who's Tommy, Anything Goes and Dolphin Cruise Lines Revue Shows, The Zany Theatre Project's Where To Draw The Line and The Ballet Man. She has been a dancer for Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys, and Huey Lewis and The News. Other performing credits include: Riverside Ballet Theater, Charlotte South Carolina Ballet Company,and Buffalo City Ballet Company.

Class Description
Creating an inclusive nonjudgmental atmosphere for the novice dancer learning their very first step to the professional dancer freshening up their technique.
Class Begins with isolation incorporating Ballet and Horton techniques to reinforce your jazz technique followed with core strengthening and stretching on the floor.
Influenced by many jazz / theater masters you will work on musicality and confidence in personal expression across the floor and in a new fun, energetic, trendy and a bit sassy dance combo that range in the many different jazz styles.
