Kim Abel

Kim Abel's class is based upon the principles and teaching of Maggie Black with whom she trained for 20 years. The purpose of the class is to achieve freedom of movement and development of individuality through attention to anatomically proper alignment while maintaining and progressing technique. The class will involve individual attention and correction. It is based on the concept that class is a place to work at all times, and is relevant to all genres of dance.

Kim was a ballet mistress for the Pennsylvania and Milwaukee Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theater, Ballet Oklahoma, Edward Villella and Dancers, and the Eglevsky Ballet. She has taught company class for American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet as well as technique classes for Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, and Barnard College.
