Lainie Sakakura
Lainie Sakakura, NYC based director, producer, award winning choreographer (2015 Joe A. Callaway Award & 2002 Joseph Jefferson Award). Broadway: SUFFS (co-producer), CABARET (co-producer), FOSSE 1999 Tony Award Best Musical (dance reconstruction & dance captain), original cast member of 6 Broadway shows including CHITA RIVERA THE DANCER'S LIFE, THE KING AND I (Legacy Robe recipient). Most recently dir/chor: LIZZIE, TheaterWorks Hartford, CARRIE, CAP21 Molloy University. Choreographer: THE FROGS, Jazz Lincoln Center, CABARET, Goodspeed Musicals, BCEFA EASTER BONNET National Tours (choreographer). Concept/Direction Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts: MY AAPI BROADWAY STORY BREAKING BARRIERS (May 2022) and MY AAPI BROADWAY STORY 1950's - 1980's (Oct 2024).
