Sam Lobel
Sam Lobel is a NYC based choreographer and dancer who specializes in contemporary, jazz, and theater dance. She has choreographed for the Young Choreographer's Festival, Tisch New Theater, NACHMO, and DUMBO Dance Festival. She has worked in collaboration with Nicholas Palmquist for Nordstrom, Steps, Peridance, and CFDA/Vogue and Krystyna Resavy for the Steps On Broadway holiday videos. Sam graduated from NYU in June 2021 with a BA in Philosophy.

Sam creates an inclusive environment for all dancers to push themselves to their highest potential while also enjoying every second of the process. She encourages the students to feel comfortable in their own bodies while being confident in their own movement and abilities. The class begins with a warm-up to get your body moving. Technique as well as flexibility is worked on in addition to performance and mindfulness. The choreography may have elements of contemporary, street, or theater dance within it, but it is always based in jazz technique. Sam believes that art requires vulnerability, and she offers a space to explore, play, and try new things!

No matter if she is performing, instructing, or presenting a piece, her main intention is to evoke emotion in her audience and to inspire people through her work. Check out samlobel.net and her Instagram @sam.lobel to follow her dance journey!
