SUMMER STUDY NYC PROGRAM
Improve your technique through daily classes with Steps’ world-renowned faculty while exploring movement, choreography and repertory in week-long workshops with eight (8) master teachers in the annual STEPS with CONTEMPORARY MASTERS series.
Enhance your movement expression with CREATIVE TOOLS, developed and led by master teacher and choreographer Elisa Monte and Tiffany Rea-Fisher. Artists share their process, and dancers and choreographers learn collaborative approaches to movement creation and articulation. Participants create compositions culminating in a Steps Studio Theater showing at the end of each session.
PERFORMANCE SKILLS classes explore specific practical techniques that enhance dancers’ performance skills. The creative process of each performer is unearthed by using task driven motivators and personal responses. Discussion and the movement generated may be included in performance. Classes are led by Heidi Latsky and Lawrence Goldhuber.
Students from past summers have been hired by Heidi Latsky Dance and performed at Lincoln Center, The Skirball Center, The High Line, as well as awarded apprenticeships with Rioult Dance NY!
