Sunday Dance Workshop Series
The Steps on Broadway Academy presents the Sunday Dance Workshop Series! In this new, quarterly program; aspiring, professional dancers supplement their technical training with esteemed faculty and guest artists. Each session focuses on a different theme, providing opportunities for intermediate and advanced dancers to prepare for the next phase of their education and to guide them towards excellence in their careers.
Dancers must be able to attend all dates of the session. Drop-ins are not permitted at this time.
Faculty highlights include: Alexis Andrews (Faculty: JKO Children’s Division, Dance Theatre of Harlem), Natalia Boesch (American Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Staatsballet Berlin), Amy Brandt (Editor-in-Chief of Pointe Magazine), Leslie Browne (American Ballet Theater), Danielle Diniz (Co-Artistic Director of Jazz Choreography Enterprises), Jen Kreichman (Steps on Broadway Academy Director), Terk Lewis (Complexions Contemporary Ballet), Daniel Ulbricht (New York City Ballet)
Fall 2025 Series: Preparing for Ballet Intensive Auditions
In this Sunday Workshop Series, dancers will hone their ballet technique, study multiple methodologies, and participate in panels dissecting topics relevant to successful auditions. Participating in 6 hours of technical classes and 4 hours of theory discussions over the 4-week program, students will have the confidence to approach their upcoming auditions with grace and precision.
Technique classes will be offered in a variety of methods, ensuring that dancers are accustomed to the variations of training that different schools and companies offer. Theory classes will help prepare students for the mental aspect of auditioning, providing perspective on what directors look for, tips for handling audition anxiety, and guidance on how to present on audition days.
For an additional fee, Dancers will have the opportunity to work with a professional photographer to take the photos needed for their audition applications. Under the guidance of the Steps on Broadway Academy Director, each student registered for the Photo Package will receive photos in arabesque and tendu à la seconde.

DRESS CODE
HAIR:
Dancers’ hair should be worn in a classical bun for ballet classes or pinned, clipped, or tied neatly and securely from the face for all other technique classes.
BALLET:
Option 1: Black leotard, pink tights or tights to match complexion, ballet slippers, or pointe shoes to match tights. Black pull-on skirt optional.
Option 2: Black full length t-shirt, black leggings or pants, black socks, and black ballet slippers.
UNDERGARMENTS
To minimize the visibility of lines under leotards and tights we recommend a neutral-colored seam-free brief or dance belt.
REGISTRATION AND TUITION
Registration Requirements
- All classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis
- All registrations will be done online. We will not be accepting mailed forms or checks.
- From the home page of the Parent Portal, click Register for Classes
- Select the program you are interested in
- Select the JR class for dancers age 10-12
- Select the SR class for dancers age 13-17
- If interested in receiving audition photos, select Photo Package in addition to the age group class
- Check the box next to each class to enroll then press Submit at the bottom of the page
- Finish registration and payment to receive a confirmation email
Registration is not considered final until payment has been processed.
