Reed Luplau

Reed Luplau was born in Perth, Australia, and graduated from the Australian Ballet School. His choreography credits include “Spring Awakening” (Skylight), “Head Over Heels” (WAPPA), “Places, Please” (Lincoln Center), “PHISH” at Madison Square Garden, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Disney Cruise Line productions, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” for the Santa Fe Opera, the Fire Island Dance Festival, Hudson Valley Dance Festival, Broadway Bares, and the Brooks Brothers 200th Birthday Celebration. He has created works for companies such as The Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company, and West Australian Ballet. Reed’s upcoming creation, “When We Touch,” is a dance narrative set to music by LP and takes place during the final week of the fall of the Berlin Wall; it is currently in development.

As a performer, Reed has been part of the original Broadway casts of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical, “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812,” and the 2015 revival of “Fiddler on the Roof,” directed by Bartlett Sher and choreographed by Hofesh Shechter. His Off-Broadway credits include “ONLY GOLD” by Andy Blankenbuehler and David Henry Hwang’s “Kung Fu.” Dance companies include Lar Lubovitch, Aszure Barton, Stephen Petornio, Sydney Dance Company, and The West Australian Ballet. 

In television and film, Reed has appeared in “Beauty,” “Fosse/Verdon,” “Halston,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Five Dances,” “Superstars of Dance,” and “Mao’s Last Dancer.”
