Drawing on the reputation as the studio where professional dancers go to train, Steps’ Professional Training Programs, offers the dedicated dancer, domestic and international, ages 17 and older, various opportunities for intensive study. These intimate curriculum-based programs provide a nurturing environment where each student’s technique and artistry can flourish.
Through intensive training, performance, and periodic evaluations these programs create polished, versatile dancers brimming with the confidence and enthusiasm to enter the competitive world of concert and commercial dance.
The Conservatory prepares intermediate and advanced dancers for a professional career in the concert and commercial dance worlds. This two-year curriculum-based program is designed to strengthen students’ technique and artistry through study and performance.
Summer Study (SSNYC) consists of two 3-week programs offering intermediate and advanced dancers (ages 18 & older) the opportunity to immerse themselves in New York’s concert and commercial dance worlds. Perfect for dancers preparing for a professional career, SSNYC is an unparalleled experience not to be missed.
International Independent Student Program (IISP) is an open enrollment program where each participant gets to create their own training schedule and experience New York City’s dance community in motion. This M-1 visa program is designed for dancers and dance educators, ages 18 and older at the beginner to professional level, who want to explore the diversity of techniques and styles Steps has to offer.
