McGEE MADDOX is a former Principal Dancer with The National Ballet of Canada and an accomplished ballet instructor with over a decade of teaching experience. Known for his commanding stage presence, technical precision, and musical sensitivity, he has built a career that bridges the worlds of classical ballet, contemporary performance, and musical theater.

Maddox trained at Houston Ballet Academy from 2003 to 2005 before joining Houston Ballet, where he performed as a member of the corps de ballet from 2005 to 2009. He went on to join The National Ballet of Canada, rising to the rank of Principal Dancer from 2014 to 2017. During his tenure, he performed leading and title roles in major classical repertoire, including OneginRomeo and JulietSwan LakeGiselle, and Cinderella. His work brought him into collaboration with some of the most influential choreographers of the 20th and 21st centuries, including James Kudelka, Alexei Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon, John Neumeier, Stanton Welch, Kevin O’Day, Sir Peter Wright, and Wayne McGregor.

In addition to his ballet career, Maddox has established himself as a versatile performer in theater and opera. His credits include the Original Broadway Cast of SMASH (2025), An American in Paris (First National Tour ’17-’18), where he performed the principal role of Jerry Mulligan, and CATS (First National Tour ’19-’20) as Rum Tum Tugger. He has also appeared in productions at the Metropolitan Opera, including La Traviata and AIDA, as well as contemporary works at venues such as the Park Avenue Armory(2023).

As an educator, Maddox has taught at leading institutions including Broadway Dance Center, New Canaan Dance Academy, Ballet Spartanburg, The Dance Loft, and as guest faculty with The National Ballet of Canada and the company of the new musical “Black Swan” which is set to premier at the American Repertory Theater in Boston in May of 2026. His teaching emphasizes strong classical technique, musicality, and artistic development, preparing dancers for pre-professional and professional careers.
