Alex Soulliere

Alex Soulliere (he/him) is an American dancer, choreographer, educator, and rehearsal director based between the United States and the United Kingdom. A graduate of The Juilliard School under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, his foundational repertoire includes works by seminal choreographers such as Crystal Pite, Ohad Naharin, Aszure Barton, Richard Alston, Pam Tanowitz, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, José Limón, and Jerome Robbins. During his time at Juilliard, Soulliere served as a Juilliard GLUCK Fellow—curating, choreographing, and performing at healthcare institutions across New York City—while concurrently guesting with Cleveland’s GroundWorks DanceTheater and performing for Ethan Colangelo at Le Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur. Following graduation, he completed a residency with Alan Lucien Øyen (Winter Guests) at The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity before performing with Jasmine Ellis Projects in Munich, Germany.

In 2018, Soulliere joined London’s Rambert under the artistic direction of Benoit Swan Pouffer. Over a six-year tenure as a company dancer and later Rehearsal Assistant, he performed works by Sharon Eyal, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Hofesh Shechter, Imre & Marne van Opstal, Wayne McGregor, Wim Vandekeybus, Jo Strømgren, Alonzo King, Marion Motin, Merce Cunningham, Jill Johnson, Ben Duke, and Benoit Swan Pouffer.

Beyond the concert stage, Soulliere has cultivated a high-profile commercial career. Highlights include serving as Dance Captain for the launch of Hermès’ central London flagship (Maison 166) and collaborating with luxury houses such as Belmond. His featured appearances include Vogue World London, the BAFTAs, the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony, the BBC Olympic Homecoming, the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards, and the August 2023 issue of Vogue alongside Naomi Campbell. He has performed live with FKA Twigs, Laura Mvula, and Moon Vs Sun, appeared in The Avalanches’ “We Will Always Love You” music video, and was featured in a MAC Cosmetics UK’s World AIDS Day campaign.

As an international educator, Soulliere has taught and assisted masterclasses across the UK, Canada, France, Italy, Australia, India, and the US. His choreographic commissions have been presented at Rambert’s The Loom and Blueprints, as well at Eisenhower Dance Detroit’s NewDANCEfest. In collaboration with his partner Jonathan Wade, his award-winning choreographic work is routinely presented across North America. Soulliere continues to perform as a member of Roderick George’s kNoname Artist.
