Bruno Serravalle

Bruno Serravalle headshot

I hail from Salvador da Bahia in Brazil, and my journey into the realm of dance began at the age of 13 when I found a deep passion for capoeira, the vibrant Brazilian dance and martial art form.

As I turned 19, I seized the opportunity to embark on a dance career while studying at FUNCEB and later at UFBA (University Federal of Bahia), home to the first contemporary dance university in South America. My dance endeavors led me to collaborate with prominent Brazilian artists such as Daniela Mercury, with occasional appearances in television commercials for brands like FORD and fashion shows.

A pivotal chapter unfolded at 23 when I relocated to London, contributing to an international contemporary dance project for BBC focused on combating human trafficking. Also I danced in a musical comedy called Frank’s Closet. Subsequently, I lent my talents to musical productions in Vienna and toured Germany and Switzerland called “MUSICAL ROCKS” . Always eager for new challenges, I found myself dancing and residing in Tunisia, where I became part of Nawel Skandrani dance company. Our journey took us to a contemporary dance festival in Ramallah, Palestine, featuring renowned companies from around the globe.

Upon settling in Switzerland, I danced for the Opera de Lausanne and crafted my own choreography in collaboration with Marina Ritz at a festival organized by Etienne Frey, the former soloist of Maurice Bejart.

Jana Ponder

Headshot Jana Ponder

Jana holds an undergraduate degree in athletic training and a graduate degree in sport and exercise psychology. She is passionate about holistic healthcare, integrating medical consultation with mental training strategies. Jana has experience working with athletes and performers of all ages across various settings.

Her first love was dance. As a child, Jana danced recreationally with CAPA Dance School and trained pre-professionally at The Washington Ballet. Unfortunately, during her pre-professional years, she faced hip injuries and underwent multiple surgeries. These challenges inspired her to support other dancers, athletes, and performing artists. Jana believes that many injuries—or their worsening—can be prevented with guidance from qualified healthcare professionals and early intervention.

After several years as an athletic trainer, Jana witnessed both the positive and negative impacts of sports and physical activity on her athletes. This experience motivated her to pursue advanced studies in sport psychology, allowing her to provide comprehensive care. She understands that an athlete’s mental state, well-being, confidence, and enjoyment are crucial for achieving and sustaining peak performance.

Currently, in addition to her full-time role, Jana runs her own business, OrthoMind Clinic, where she serves as an athletic trainer and sport psychology consultant. She is dedicated to enhancing her clients’ quality of life and performance. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her cat, trying new restaurants, attending professional ballets, and listening to audiobooks. Jana is excited to collaborate with Cerebral Sports and provide services to Steps on Broadway this season as a contracted sport psychology consultant. Feel free to reach out to Jana @orthomind.clinic.
