Ann Sterling Dale is from Statesville, NC and graduated from Elon University with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. She attended The Ailey School in 2010 and was part of the Jennifer Muller The Works Scholarship Program. Ann Sterling has performed professionally in North Carolina with the Winston-Salem Festival Ballet and in New York City with The Next Stage Project. She has performed with BalaSole Dance Company at the Ailey Citigroup Theater and also presented and performed her work A Battle Waged in the 2012 Young Choreographer’s Festival. Ann Sterling has performed as a company member with Ad Deum Dance Company in Houston, Texas from 2012-2015. While in Houston, she taught for Houston Academy of Dance, West University Dance Center, The Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, and the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center. Ann Sterling choreographed HFCC Performing Arts Company’s 2015 production of Annie and 2016 production of Fiddler on the Roof in Oscoda, Michigan. Last year, Ann Sterling studied in the Professional Division Scholarship Program at The Ailey School and was selected to perform in Matthew Rushing’s work for The Ailey School’s 2015 Winter Concert. She also was selected to perform in Matthew Rushing’s work for the Hudson Yards Alvin Ailey Project in September of 2016. Ann Sterling was invited to be a member of the Tabernacle Dance Company and performed at the 2016 Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem last October. She is currently on the Tap Faculty for Ballet Hispánico, assists for Steps Youth Programs, and teaches at City Moves Dance Studio in New York City. Ann Sterling also has her Pilates Mat 1 Certification.
