Elizabeth Buchheister
Elizabeth Buchheister is a choreographer, teacher, dancer, and production coordinator based in NYC. Elizabeth is from Emmitsburg, Maryland and began performing in community musical theater at a young age. She later studied dance at various schools including The City Ballet School. Elizabeth graduated from The Ailey School’s certificate program as well as completing Ailey Extension’s Horton pedagogy certification. She is also a scholarship student at The Paul Taylor School. Elizabeth has performed works by Alvin Ailey, Ronald K Brown, Amy Hall Garner, Darrell Moultrie, JA Collective, and Kevin Jenkins. Elizabeth teaches at 92NY Harkness School of Dance and demonstrates for Horton classes at 92NY and Steps on Broadway. She has choreographed original works for Ballet Hartford, Mercersburg Academy, and the new opera Gracchus. Elizabeth’s choreography has also been seen at Bridge for Dance, Greenspace, Spark Theatre Festival, Baltimore’s Peabody Dance Festival, and Philadelphia’s Koresh Artist Showcase. She is also a freelance performer, performance/events coordinator, assistant stage manager, and lighting designer. She currently works for Ailey Extension and Arts on Site.
