Emma Thesing

Emma Thesing is from Chicago, Illinois, where she danced throughout high school with the pre-professional performing company at Visceral Dance Chicago under the mentorship of artistic director, Nick Pupillo. Emma then went on to study at the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, SUNY; where, in 2022, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.F.A in dance. While at Purchase she worked with choreographers such as Ana Maria Lucaciu, Joseph Hernandez, Peter Chu, Annie Rigney, Andrea Miller, and Hannah Garner/2nd Best Dance. Additionally, Emma has attended intensives at Arts Umbrella, SHIFT mentorship, Movement Invention Project, River North Dance Chicago, UNCSA, and most recently- Springboard Danse Montreal. At Springboard, under the direction of Alexandra Wells, she had the privilege of participating in new creation processes with both Kyle Abraham and James Vivieros.

Emma began working with GALLIM as an apprentice in Spring 2022 and is ecstatic to continue as a company dancer in their 15th Anniversary Fall season.
