Headshot Erin Thompson

Erin Thompson is a Director/Choreographer, teacher, and performer. She brings a lifetime of dance training to her various fitness certifications and experience. In addition, she has practiced yoga since 2001.

Erin graduated from The Boston Conservatory with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater. Amidst a busy performing career, she earned her first 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification in 2005 from Yogaview (Chicago, IL). She served as Dance Captain on several Equity shows she worked on, as well as Choreographer at Chicago Academy of the Arts. Erin’s fitness career took off when she moved to New York in 2011, and began teaching Flybarre at the flagship studio of Flywheel Sports in NYC. She was awarded a scholarship from Career Transitions for Dancers to get her Personal Training Certification from National Academy of Sports Medicine. Erin eventually landed at Mark Fisher Fitness, where she taught group fitness classes (kettlebell/HIIT) and strength training as a personal trainer at MFF for the next 5 years to the beloved Broadway community of NYC. Additional certifications include Pre/Postnatal training, Zumba, and CPR. Erin is in the process of completing her second 200 hr Yoga Certification (CorePower Yoga, NYC) and the Steele Pilates Teacher Training Certification (NYC).

Her background as a dancer and choreographer inevitably influence her teaching style, allowing her to creatively design programs/classes and sequencing that flows seamlessly to energetic playlists of music. Erin is currently a Director/Choreographer with the 2018-19 Observership Program at Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, and a proud member of Equity.
