Jackie Sleight

JACKIE SLEIGHT is fearless. Her dedication to education in the dance industry has been endless. She has been referred to by Dance Magazine as “the teachers’ teacher”, and has received numerous awards honoring her commitment to dance education.

She has amassed years choreographing in television, film, and commercials, all while training some of the biggest names in the industry. When Jackie was just 24 years old, she started a production company called A Sleight Touch.

Since then, it has been the foundation of massive projects, including LA DanceMagic, a national dance convention that trains and inspires thousands of young dancers annually. A Sleight Touch was also the brand name of a young dance group that won the Grand Championship on the iconic television show, Star Search. Since then, A Sleight Touch has been listed as part of “80’s pop culture”.

Most recently Jackie established the Los Angeles Jazz Company whose vision is to maintain the legacy of jazz dance while encompassing its current popular vibe and exploring its future. When once asked in an interview what dance meant to her, Jackie said, “Dance is what can make anything possible”. It seems that she is proving that to be true once again.
