Jamal Callender

Jamal Callender is a Bajan-American dancer, actor, movement director, and educator who is a Princess Grace Award recipient and graduate of The Juilliard School. His illustrious career includes performances as a principal dancer with Ballet Hispánico, a soloist with the National Theater Mannheim and Ballet Bern, and company positions with Atlanta Ballet and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
As the founder of the Barbados Dance Project, Jamal is committed to fostering dance education and cultural exchange. He has taught company classes for prestigious organizations such as Cincinnati Ballet, Ballets Jazz de Montréal, Riva & Repele Company, Ailey II, and IT Dansa.
Jamal’s creative vision extends into brand collaborations, creating works for Cartier, MSC Cruises, and partnering with the Hermès Foundation. He has appeared in commercials for BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Pandora, and Dior, and performed in high-prole events like the Dior SS23 fashion show and Milan Design Week 2024 for Porsche.
As an advocate for the arts, Jamal serves on the Artistic Council of MOVE|NYC, supporting programs that empower and diversify the next generation of artists. He continues to make a profound impact on the global arts community, combining his passion for performance, education, and innovative storytelling.
