Jonathan E. Alsberry

Focused on inspiring excellence and joy, Jojo moves with a fierce dedication to the exploration of artistry and process. Currently the Sr. Rehearsal Director & Director of Summer Intensives at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Jojo received his BFA from The Juilliard School after graduating from Chicago Academy for the Arts.

In his second year of school Jojo joined The Metropolitan Opera Ballet as a soloist followed by the Lyric Opera of Chicago and most recently The LA Opera. In 2005 he joined Aszure Barton & Artists followed by the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company.

Jojo remains Creative Associate and Stager for Aszure and Lar respectively, staging and creating work at various companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Hamburg Ballet, Hubbard Street and La Scala. More educational ties include Arts Umbrella, Springboard Danse, University of California Irvine and The School at Jacob’s Pillow.
