Kelin Barr

Kelin is originally from New York, where she began her dance training. She continued her education and training at the University at Buffalo, receiving a BFA in dance performance. Upon graduating, Kelin was able to travel the world while performing with Royal Caribbean International and has performed in many production shows across the country with Spirit Productions. While in NYC, she performed at several different venues including the Salvatore Capezio Theater, Symphony Space, Hudson Guild and The Choreographer’s Ball at the Highline Ballroom. Kelin performed in NYC as a member of SynthesisDANCE Company, under the direction of Tracie Stanfield for several years. In addition to her performance credits, Kelin has judged for numerous competitions including Backstage, Edge Talent, National Dance Showcase, and Step Up 2 Dance.

As a teacher and choreographer Kelin’s focus is on training young dancers in injury prevention, building a strong foundation in their technique, and inspiring dancers to find and connect to their passion and artistry. Kelin has taught for Beyond the Stars and Groove Dance Convention and continues to choreograph and teach for many nationally recognized competitive dance studios in the NY/NJ area. Her competitive choreography has won numerous awards and IDA nominations. Most recently her contemporary work has been showcased at The Joyce Theater in NYC. She is certified in Sugarfoot Therapy and is a member of The National Dance Education Organization. Currently, she is the Company Director for the nationally ranked competitive company at Brava Dance Center in Rye, NY.
