A Seasoned and celebrated Professional dancer/singer/actor with 20 years of experience working on and off Broadway. For 11 years, I’ve been a celebrated dance/musical theater acting and voice educator serving on the faculty of Texas State University, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and the NY Film Academy. LaQuet trained at William Esper Studios with William Esper and is a proud SUNY Empire State College graduate with a BA in Theater & Dance.

As an educator, LaQuet’s movement analyst eye is a winning ingredient for helping students understand why the body moves with grace, style, and fluidity. The Onset Technique is an educational tool that promotes ease, flow, and connectivity. My methodology has been welcomed in multiple universities and conservatories, including Ballet Austin, The Performing Arts Project, Texas Christian University, and countless dance and theater schools nationwide.
As a writer, producer, and director/choreographer, they transitioned from the stage to behind the table, writing three plays ( Lifting a Burden, Driving, and Hearing The Pause), Freedom of Expression – A Choreopoem in collaboration with Dancers For Harris and Together Marching – Red Bucket Follies.
Additionally, their work is regarded as a contemporary visionary for theater and dance. Most recently, their work was seen at PACE University’s Big Fish The Musical, Oklahoma, and Marymount Manhattan College’s Little Women The Musical. Additionally, their choreography work can be seen in the music video Welcome Here. Their producer credits include The Submission, The Dead Guy, and Closer through their production company, Fearless Young Artists Studios.
Class Description:
Contemporary Jazz, all levels: This class is rooted in FYA Studios’ methodology, The Onset Technique. Starting with a performance-enhancing warm-up, this 90-minute class aids the artists with their ability to find ease, flow, and connectivity between their heads and their hearts. Every class will have across-the-floor techniques and varying dance combinations to proceed into a class of spoken and written reflections on what was experienced. The class concludes with a physical cool down, which returns every artist into a body that finds movement in the pausing and reflection in movement.
