Lauren Starobin

Lauren trained in classical and modern dance in her native New Jersey with Roberta Mathes at BergenPac and in New York at Manhattan Youth Ballet and Steps. She has toured with Ballet for Young Audiences and performed at New York Twon Hall and Symphony Space for Dancers Responding to Aids.

Lauren first tried Gyrotonic while attending Rhode Island School of Design and was instantly delighted at the profound intelligence of the movement system. Aches in her body that had occured since she was a preteen melted away after just one month. She studied Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis extensively with Master Trainers Sebastian Plattenberg and Erica Hassan. She is passionate about all intelligent movement and has studied pilates, yoga, and martial arts (tae-kwon-do) since she was very young.
