Marijke Eliasberg – native of the Netherlands and Co-Artistic Director of The Next Stage Project (TNSP), has been dancing, teaching and choreographing for the past 10 years in New York City and the Netherlands.

As a dancer, she has had the opportunity to work with Jana Hicks, Kevin Wynn, Max Stone, SunHwa Chung, Jenni Hong, Guido Tuveri, among others as well as many choreographers in The Netherlands.

As a teacher, Marijke has taught in NY at Dance Space Center, Steps on Broadway, Ballet Arts and Dance Forum. In the Netherlands she has taught and choreographed for the Amsterdam Theaterschool, Rotterdam Dance Academy, 5 O’clock Class, Dance Company Dimovi, Studio K’Dans, Amsterdam Dance Centre, Holland Dance Festival, Henny Jurriens Foundation, and as well in Belgium (Brugge) and France (Vannes).

Her choreography has been shown in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Rotterdam), France (Vannes), Germany (Hannover), New Jersey, Michigan, New Hampshire, Hawaii (Maui), and India (Pune).

In New York City her works have been showcased at City Center Studios, the Evolving Arts Theater, Dance Forum, Steps on Broadway, CRS (Center for Remembering and Sharing), University Settlement, Ailey Citigroup Theater, and the Cunningham Studios among others.

In New York, Marijke produced and directed REDSHOES, a monthly dance showcase featuring prominent dance artists at One Arm Red in DUMBO Brooklyn and has been assistant to choreographers: Jana Hicks, Kevin Wynn, Gabrielle Roth and Johannes Wieland.

In 2002 she founded The Next Stage Project (TNSP) – a dance collective creating performance opportunities and experiences to help dancers further their careers and realize their dreams. By forming partnerships between artists from around the globe, TNSP aims to push artists to their next level and to challenge and encourage creative artistic growth through dance, choreography, performance, education and exchange programs.
