Michael Francis McBride

Michael Francis McBride, originally from Johnson City, NY is a freelance performing artist based out of New York City. Mr. McBride graduated magna cum laude from the Ailey/Fordham Bachelor of Fine Arts Program in 2010 after joining the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 2009 under the direction of Judith Jamison. In his tenure performing with the Ailey Company (2009-2019) Michael performed over 65 ballets by choreographers such as Alvin Ailey, Robert Battle, Ronald K. Brown, Garth Fagan, George Faison, Geoffrey Holder, Bill T. Jones, Jirí Kylián, Wayne McGregor, Ohad Naharin, David Parsons, Hofesh Shechter, Paul Taylor, and Twyla Tharp.

Having a passion for both Musical Theater and Opera, Michael has performed at multiple venues around the world including Bucks County Playhouse, Cape Playhouse, Chicago Lyric Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, and Portland Opera. When not performing Mr. McBride is an impassioned educator and budding choreographer having experience teaching absolute beginners to seasoned professionals in a range of techniques and styles.
