Mindy Jackson
Mindy Jackson, Conservatory Director and contemporary faculty at STEPS, has been a professional dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director, teacher and youth mentor for concert dance, theater, enrichment programs, music videos and television for over 20 years. Notable credits include The Steps Repertory Ensemble and being recognized by Dance Magazine with an ENews exclusive and showcased as a style model. She has worked with top contemporary and theater dance makers including Aszure Barton, Cherice Barton, Monica Bill Barnes, Andrea Miller, Camille A. Brown, Josh Prince, Donald Byrd, Benoit Swan Pouffer, Larry Keigwin, Seán Curran, Nathan Trice, Mark Dendy, Zvi Gotheiner, Jacqulyn Buglisi, Celia Rowlson-Hall, and Cape Town South Africa’s Ikapa Dance Theatre. Her choreography was selected for the North Carolina Dance Festival, the American Dance Festival’s 80th Anniversary Celebration, and Inception to Exhibition to perform in Bryant Park’s Contemporary Dance Summer Series. She has been a teaching artist for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s ASAP program (Ailey Students Ailey Pros), Dancewave’s Dancing Through College and Beyond, Chicago National Association of Dance Masters and is a proud mom of two little girls.
