Mink Chu
Mink Chu was first introduced to dance at the age of 7 while pursuing figure skating in Clearwater, FL. She began her training in dance and gymnastics, and soon thereafter moved to New York where she continued to train with local studios in her hometown in Queens. Mink obtained a BA in Dance and Theatre from Hunter College. It was during an educational tour, with her dance company at Hunter College, where she discovered her passion for teaching dance to young students. Since graduating, Mink has danced for the Alvin Nicholais Company, Disney, VH1, the NBA, and most recently the Latin GRAMMY-awarded singer, Fonseca. She has gained extensive training as an Office Assistant and Teaching Assistant with Steps Youth Programs and is excited to begin teaching in the Young Dancers Program this summer.
Mink is a firm believer that dance is a major tool in maturing coordination, memory development, social skills, and self-confidence. Her class consists of exploration activities through stretching, stimulating and movement exercises with enriching instruments and props. She is passionate about working with children and always maintains a nurturing and encouraging environment to assist in developing young dancers.
Mink continues to train and build her resume at Steps on Broadway for both dancing and teaching.
