Headshot Monique Alhaddad

Monique is an ACE-certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, a TRX-qualified trainer, and a licensed Zumba instructor. In addition, she currently teaches weekly high-intensity interval training classes at Matrix Fitness Club in Astoria, Queens and is also an instructor at Equinox Health Clubs in NYC. Fitness has been a huge part of her life for over 20 years. She graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis with a B.A. in Dance, and her early goal was to achieve a concert dance career with a modern dance company. Her path changed dramatically, however, when her first job out of college was choreographing for the NBA’s Indiana Pacemates, the professional dance team for the Indiana Pacers. During her nine seasons with the Pacemates, she was immensely involved with health clubs, where she became addicted to strength training and group fitness classes. She met and worked with some amazing fitness professionals along the way who influenced her to pursue a parallel career in fitness, and she now successfully dovetails careers in both fitness and musical theatre. Some of her favorite performing credits include: Fosse (International Tour), Anita in West Side Story (Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre), She Loves Me (Huntington Theatre) and Curtains (Papermill Playhouse). She also appears in the film adaptation of The Last Five Years. A long-time student of Steps, Monique is excited to join the guest faculty and share her passion for dance and fitness.
