Monique Smith

Headshot Monique Smith

Monique Smith has performed on Broadway (After Midnight, Memphis, Hot Feet) as well as numerous NYC productions (NY City Center, Radio City, NY Philharmonic, Madison Square Garden) and dance companies (Philadanco, Forces of Nature, Sonya Tayeh Dance). She has worked as Associate Choreographer to Savion Glover (Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope/City Center) and Associate Choreographer to Ann Yee (Caroline, or Change/Broadway). Monique is currently a faculty member at Joffrey Ballet School, Brooklyn Ballet School, and Molloy University, as well as an adjudicator for Youth America Grand Prix and Break the Floor Productions. She has worked as a choreographer for Marymount Manhattan College, RWS Entertainment, and Fantasia Barrino.

Monique’s class focuses on “strength and length” with a modern-based warm up. She adds some fun jazz technique progressions across the floor and finishes with choreography that emphasizes rhythmic footwork and encourages individual style.
