Nancy Koch
As a former adult beginner Nancy has a keen understanding of the precision required to adopt correct postural and movement habits. Her instruction is particularly attuned to the less obvious goings-on deep within the musculature and allows for the development of a strong and equally supple body.
Through the use of predominantly large, expansive movements her warm-up inherently fosters muscle strength and pliancy, with particular focus on seamless transitions and release of destructive tension in order to elongate overdeveloped and/or chronically tight muscle.
A Steps faculty member for over a decade, additional teaching positions and affiliations include New York University’s School of Education, Barnard College, Perry Studios, New Dance Group, PlusOne Fitness and Tudor Investment Corporation Fitness.
Nancy also privately trains and coaches amateur athletes, performing artists and individuals determined to move with vitality and poise.
