Nicholas Cunningham

Australian born Nicholas Cunningham is an international performer, dancer, and choreographer who resides in New York City.
He is deeply passionate about theatrical dance, musicianship, and storytelling. His one-of-a-kind, world-class hybrid style defines his multiverse choreography that connects imaginations, music, and stories through dance. Cunningham approaches each creation with an open mind and a warm, collaborative energy. He creates space to explore the infinite imagination we have as humans.
His performance debut was at the world-famous Moulin Rouge. West End credits include Broadway’s Tony award-winning show Movin’ Out, directed and choreographed by Twyla Tharp, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake and the Olivier award-winning revival of La Cage aux Folles. During his time in London, Cunningham was featured in Nine, directed by Oscar-winner Rob Marshall. Cunningham debuted on Broadway as the Associate Choreographer, Dance Captain and Hanna from Hamburg in the Tony, Drama Desk award-winning revival of La Cage aux Folles in 2010. Cunningham’s Broadway credits include The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Hal Prince and The Terms of My Surrender, directed by Michael Mayer.
A few recent performance highlights include High Button Shoes in the New York City directed by John Rando and choreographed by Sarah O’Gleby, Bernstein’s Candide with the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, directed by Kevin Newberry, Bernstein’s Mass for PBS Great Performances at the Ravinia Festival conducted by Marin Alsop, directed by Kevin Newberry.
Most recently Cunningham has worked as a presenter on The Wendy Williams Show, performed for NBC and American Horror Story, choreographed for Princeton University’s Triangle Club, and was a swing/solo dancer at The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
