Kai Davis trained at The Ruth Page School of Dance under Larry Long in her hometown of Chicago, IL. She also studied at The Lou Conte School of Dance along with full summer scholarships to The Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet and The Joffrey Ballet.

Professionally, Kai’s career began with The Boston Ballet under Bruce Marks & Ana Marie Holmes. Throughout her five seasons there, she performed corps and soloist roles in Russian classics including Swan Lake, La Bayadere, The Sleeping Beauty & Don Quixote, John Cranko’s Onegin & Romeo & Juliet as well as the great Balanchine pieces, The Four Temperments, Symphony in C & Theme And Variations.

In 2003, Ms. Davis was invited to work with Ballet British Columbia where she spent six seasons with the company performing in contemporary & modern pieces by James Kudelka, Paul Taylor & Jiri Kylian.

Kai also participated in the creative process for new works by then Artistic Director, John Alleyne, including his productions of A Streetcar Named Desire & Orpheus.

As an educator, Kai began teaching ballet and pointe technique for the Alonzo King Lines Ballet Training Program in San Francisco, California in 2010. Throughout her 10 years in the Bay Area, she also taught for the BFA Dance Program at The Dominican University of Marin, the Advanced Ballet Program for The Ruth Asawa School of the Arts as well as company class for Smuin SF Ballet & Oakland Ballet.

Kai now resides in Montclair, New Jersey where she is an adjunct professor of ballet & pointe technique for the BFA Dance Program at Montclair State University. She has also taught for the Certified Program at Peridance in New York City and continues to be invited as a guest teacher for their summer intensive.
