Shenandoah’s dance programs offer the academic rigor and professional preparation needed for success across a wide range of dance careers.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees are designed for highly motivated, pre-professional dancers pursuing careers as performers, choreographers, or educators. The Bachelor of Arts program serves dancers who wish to combine their artistic development with a broad liberal arts education while continuing to advance their technical and creative skills.
All degree programs provide opportunities to cultivate creative, technical, and production skills while deepening philosophical and theoretical understanding—supported by close, mentoring relationships with dedicated dance faculty.
Shenandoah Conservatory dancers train in a wide repertoire of artistic styles and techniques and perform in original choreography created by faculty and internationally recognized guest artists. Students also choreograph new works that are presented both on campus and through touring and showcase opportunities in Washington, D.C., New York City, and beyond.
From the moment you arrive, you will be immersed in your art. The Conservatory’s intimate and supportive environment fosters focus, collaboration, and individual creativity. Shenandoah graduates are performing on Broadway, in regional theatres, on national and international tours, with dance companies, and across the entertainment industry worldwide.
